Flossie Jones

Flossie Mae Jones, age 85 of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, August 30th 2021 at Owensboro Health. She was born August 2nd 1936 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the daughter of Earl & Ethel Nixon Alford. She was a loving mother and caring grandmother to her six children and host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She always was known to always having a smile on her face, even up until her passing and a very contagious laugh that brought joy to those around her. She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Ann Decker (Larry) & Barbara White; four sons, Jimmie Beasley, Eddie Beasley, Jeff Jones, & Timmy Jones; eleven grandchildren, Tommy (Cherish), Sandra (Shannon), Robert (Lavonne), Sam (Brittany), Martina (Owen), Bradie (Daniel), Erica (Leon), Christie, Cory, Heather, & Donna (Josh); twenty-six great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Lawrence (Billy); four brothers, Stoy Alford, Melvin Alford (Brenda), Roger Alford (Jocelyn), & Larry Alford (Bonnie). Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Jones; her sister, Gladys Patterson; and two brothers, Roy & Earl Ray Alford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CT), Saturday, September 4th 2021 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
