James Johnson

James Johnson, Farrell to his family and friends, age 84, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, October 24th 2021 at the Springview Health & Rehab Center in Leitchfield. He was born August 11th 1937 in Clarkson, Kentucky, the son of Claude & Janie VanMeter Johnson. Farrell was Clarkson High School Class of 1957 Graduate, an Army Veteran who served two years in active status and two years in reserve, and worked as a steel manufacturer for Crucible Magnetics as well as working on his farm. He served on the Grayson County School Board during the Consolidation and was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Jana Farris Johnson, his children, Kaye Burnette (George) & Jim Johnson; his step-children, David Cole (Alana), Gary Cole (Melissa), & Susan Lester (Mike); four grandchildren, Dylan Milliner, Alex Majors, Brynnan Beckman, & Hunter Johnson; nine step grandchildren, Jennifer, Brad, Heather, Amanda, Brianna, Chelsea, Graham, Lauren, three great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Cain & Annalee Watson; and one brother, Roy Owen Johnson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Milam Johnson; one daughter, Leisha Johnson; two brothers, Gene & Billy Johnson; and three sisters, Corene Logsdon, Ernestine Sego, & Geraldine Haycraft. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (Oct 30th) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens following the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Watson & Hunt Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Johnson.
