Linda Cottrell

Linda Cottrell, age 76 of Caneyville, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. She was born on September 27, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn (Clifford) Chambers.

Linda was a very inquisitive lady who never met a stranger. She was always friendly and loved to talk to people. She loved her family fiercely. In her free time, she enjoyed card games, especially solitaire.

Left to honor Linda’s memory, are her two sons, Vernon Cottrell, Jr. and Dennis Cottrell; two step-sons, Elvis Cottrell and Porter Cottrell; nine grandchildren, Riccai, Heather (Brad), Sabrina, Trey, Dakota, Melissa, Aubrey, Peyton, and Morgan; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Cottrell, Sr.; one daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Powell; two sisters, Cecilia and Glenda; and three brothers, Richard, Joseph and Rayford.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Leitchfield Funeral Home with Elvis Cottrell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cub Run. Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
