Mary Beckner

Mary Margaret Beckner, age 80 of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, October 18th 2020. Born in June of 1940 in Sunfish Kentucky she was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Jessie Bush, two brothers, Pleas (Liz) and Abe Bush, and one sister Frances Davis. She is survived by her three sons, CPT (RET) James Beckner Jr. (Emma) of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; COL (RET) Timothy Beckner (Dede) of Belmont, North Carolina; and Thomas Beckner of Leitchfield, Kentucky. She was the proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Dr. Margaret Beckner Whitener (Thomas), James Beckner lll (Anna), Bonnie Parady (Brian), and Joseph Beckner, as well as three great granddaughters. Margaret was known for her quiet yet feisty spirit, her green thumb, and being an amazing cook, but she loved caring for her family more than anything. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Sunfish and, after moving to Leitchfield, St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Due to COVID-19 circumstances, a private burial will be held at St. John's cemetery.
