Nelson Randolph Galloway

Nelson Randolph Galloway, age 85 of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Leitchfield. He was born on April 17, 1939, in Leitchfield, the son of the late Paul and Eva Mae Probus Galloway.

On January 16, 1956, at the age of 16, Nelson purchased property and established G & G Oil and kept the business until his death. He owned and operated his own trucking company and a few other businesses. He was an amazing humanitarian, well known supporter and influencer of the community and there was no one else like him. He was a devoted member of Mt. Gilead Church.

Left to honor Nelson’s memory, are his wife of fourteen years, Lisa Cardarelle Galloway; his daughter, Katrina Galloway (Tim), his daughter, Linel Holwager (Matt), and his son, Keith Galloway (Emily); his stepsons, Tyler and David Kohlmann; nine grandchildren, Madeline, Charlie, Ruby, Teddy, Kayleb, Kara, Kason, Alex and Jack; one sister, Helen Higdon; one niece, Deena Higdon; one nephew, Joe Higdon; and several very, very close friends who were loved by Nelson and his family.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Roy Galloway, as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Leitchfield Funeral Home. On the day he passed, Nelson was on his way to church at Mt. Gilead. In accordance with his wishes, his family and close friends will take him to church on Sunday, May 26th and have a time of prayer after the service.
