Roger Huston Blanton

Roger Huston Blanton, age 83 of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his residence. He was born on August 15, 1940, in Leitchfield the son of Edward and Lillian Fulkerson Blanton.

Roger was a member of Bloomington Baptist Church. A carpenter and farmer by trade but he was a Jack of all Trades. His greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a friend to many and a stranger to none.

Left to honor Roger’s memory are his children, Timmy Blanton, Kathy Willis (Faron) and Dawn Lampton (Brian); one grandson, whom he raised, Josh Harris (Karen); one granddaughter whom he raised, Lori Blanton; five sisters, Carolyn Watson, Althea McKinney, Vicky Decker, Gail Holland, and Barbara Davis; three brothers, Earl, Larry and Calvin Blanton; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Beville Blanton, who passed away in 2022 and two sons, Steve and Neil Blanton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Leitchfield Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Bertram officiating. Burial will be in Bloomington Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
