Ruby Hodge

Ruby Haycraft Hodge, age 80 of Leitchfield, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her residence. She was born on January 22, 1944 in Snap, KY the daughter of John and Marcella Sims Haycraft.

Ruby was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her dog, Bandy, who preceded her in death. She also loved taking care of stray cats. She was a wonderful cook and didn’t use any recipes.

Left to honor Ruby’s memory are her children, Stanley Hodge (Saranna) and Melinda Williams; one sister, Anna Willis; one brother, Charles Haycraft; four grandchildren, Courtney Collins (Brandon), Nicole Williams-Farley (Michael), Houston Hodge and Jared Butler (Hannah); and three great-grandchildren, Asher, Lucas and Holland Greer.

Aside from her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by one son, Andy Hodge; four sisters, Mary Gibson, Shirley Willis, Burnidda Williams, and Nina Willis; four brothers, Joe, Edsel, Shelby and Cecil Haycraft; and one son-in-law, Johnie Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Leitchfield Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Brooks officiating. Burial will be in John Haycraft Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
