Vonda Lewis

Vonda Lewis, age 50, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, April 29th 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 20th 1971 in Jenkins, Kentucky, the daughter of Myrel Lewis, Sr. & the late Shirley Sturgill Lewis. Vonda was known as "Nanny" by many, who had a special love for the children she cared for and who had a green thumb, spending time tending to her garden. She is survived by her husband, Nicky Jackson; her daughter, Kianna McCown; her grandson Jaxon Bucy; her father, Myrel Lewis, Sr.; two sisters, Michelle Lewis & Tanya Metzler; four brothers, Tracy Lewis, Norman Lewis, Donnie Lewis, & Myrel Lewis, Jr.; and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, May 4th 2021 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. She will be laid to rest in the Calvert Church Cemetery in Breckinridge County. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m., Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and Friends who wish to honor and remember Vonda in person at the visitation or funeral are required to wear a mask while in the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
